EdTech Books Publishing Platformhttps://edtechbooks.org/This is by far one of my favorite innovations in recent history within the field of educational technology. This platform hosts a number of open textbooks under Open Educational Resource licenses. The chapters are written by leading authorities in the field and are useful for teaching and learning in educational technology both in formal and informal settings. The site is created and maintained by Royce Kimmons out of Brigham Young University. I strongly encourage both students and educators to adopt these resources for their own practice. The platform also provides many useful affordances for scaffolding learning and evaluating the learning materials for learners and authors, respectively.
Instructional Design Organization Websitehttps://www.instructionaldesign.org/InstructionalDesign.org is a useful website maintained by Richard Culatta and Greg Kearsley, both well-known leaders in the field. The website provides an inclusive list of theories, models, concepts, domains, and books of relevance to educational technology professionals. The descriptions of each of the items (e.g., list of theories) are concise and informed by credible sources and connected to the individuals responsible for each contribution. Not all items and descriptions are complete, but the website is a quick reference to learn about an unknown idea relevant to instructional design in particular.
International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction (IBSTPI)https://ibstpi.org/The International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction (IBSTPI) has been developing and validating the standards for professionals in the learning, development and performance improvement fields for more than three decades. Currently, IBSTPI provides competencies and peformance standards for instructors, instructional designers, evaluators, and online learners.
